Louisiana Outdoor Cooking
My first book came out in the fall of 2020 from the LSU Press. It features a lot of recipes that I compiled over the years from tailgate parties, barbecue competitions, Food Network shows, and private dinners. The book also tells a lot of stories from those experiences.
I enjoy writing about food just as much as I like cooking it.
In 2009 I found myself bored sitting behind a computer at my day job. I began keeping an online food journal, documenting what I ate for lunch each day and beers I had with friends over the weekend. It quickly grew into an expression of food and culture. As the blog continued to grow, I grew my writing portfolio with different magazines and websites including Louisiana Cookin’, Delta Sky, Good Grit, Huffington Post, Louisiana Travel, The Advocate, Country Roads, 225 Magazine, and much more.
While my blogging has taken a back seat to everything else I do, I still enjoy writing about food and telling stories through the lens of food and beverage.
