Was located on 126 Railroad Avenue, Donaldsonville, LA. The Gondran Theatre was built in 1906 as an opera house. It was renamed the Grand Theatre in 1912. It began showing movies around 1914 and remodeled in 1917. It was also referred to as "The Show". The Grand provided entertainment and wonderful memories for decades with the locals and was also known for its famous sweet and salty popcorn. On December 31, 1982, the final curtain came down with its last movie shown, "ET, the Extraterrestrial." "The End" scrolled across the screen for the last time, making the end of an era. Sadly, it was demolished in 1983.
